Animals & Pet Licenses

Pet Licensing: Aurora law requires that all dogs and cats over the age of six months be licensed with the Animal Services Division. Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required before an animal license can be issued. Licenses and rabies vaccinations must be updated prior to their expiration date.

Intact Animal License: This is required for cats and dogs that are NOT spayed or neutered ("intact"). It must be obtained within 30 days of moving into the city, or by the time the animal is six months of age.

Neutered Animal License: This permit is required for cats and dogs that are spayed or neutered. It must be obtained within 30 days of moving into the city, or by the time the animal is six months of age.
Business Licensing
Any sole proprietor, partnership, LLC, or corporation (including non-profit organizations) who conducts business activities within the city of Aurora, regardless of the physical location of the business, is required to have a business license.
Contractor Licensing
To work in the city of Aurora as a contractor, you will need to obtain the appropriate license for the type of work you will be doing.
Liquor Licensing
In order to sell, serve or distribute liquor or 3.2 percent beer at retail at a given location, that location must be licensed by both the city of Aurora and the state of Colorado.
