Sixth Avenue (State Highway 30) Improvements Project
Starting in June, the Colorado Department of Transportation and Kiewit Infrastructure Company will construct an additional lane in the westbound direction of Sixth Avenue (State Highway 30) between Telluride Street and Tower Road/Aspen Street. The project will also construct an eastbound left-turn lane at Tower Road, reconstruct the intersecting roadway approach at Ventura Street, and provide new signing and striping throughout the project limits.
Project benefits include reduced travel delay on westbound 6th Avenue and improved traffic operations at the 6th Avenue and Tower Road/Aspen Street intersection.
One lane in each direction will be provided during most of the project. Occasional lane closures are anticipated. Drivers should expect traffic shifts and intermittent flagging for construction equipment access to the work site. The posted speed limit will be reduced and fines are double in the work zone.
Project completion is anticipated this summer. All work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change. Visit the project website for the latest schedule information.
